This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Platform products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Thank you for the suggestion. Security best practices would mean that it should not be possible for WebSphere to be able to determine and disseminate why an authentication failure occurred. As a result while it might be possible to write code to determine the reason for the failure it would be a security anti-pattern for an LDAP server to provide sufficient information such that WebSphere could determine and share it. LDAP server audit logs should be able to capture this information and that would be a better security practice rather than relying on WebSphere audit logs. Given this concern, we have decided to decline the request. If you would like to discuss this decision further, please contact Graham Charters <charters@uk.ibm.com>.
We are getting outcome reason code=15 in our security auditing logs in case of invalid user or wrong password.
We want these information in logs: -
i) On Login via Startpage failing due to wrong Username, failure reason should be shown in audit log.
ii) On Login via Startpage failing due to wrong Password, failure reason should be shown in audit log.
iii) On Login via Startpage failing due to Login attempt using Expired User Account, failure reason should be shown in audit log.
