Hi,
I'm the client for this RFE and would like to stress that this is a showstopper to implementation.
We are loading 24,000 assets into RAM.
After the initial load when assets are created we need specific user groups to subscribe to creation events.
When those subscriptions are created (after the initial load) those users receive notifications for all the assets that were created in the initial load. To them it looks like a massive spam attack. So we cant go live till we can control the emails to ensure all the history is not sent - or at least to limit the notification history to a few days.
regards,
Jan
Hello,
Yes I believe the client has tried this. Apparently the emails to be sent were cached, so if the setting wasnt changed prior to uploading 1000s of assets, then they have no way of clearing it. They didnt have an SMTP server connected for quite a while while they were uploading, deleting and reuploading...hence the large number of emails being sent as soon as the SMTP server is reconnected.
They have disabled email notification until a solution is found.
Thanks,
-Angela
This request lacks sufficient information for us to evaluate it. It might not be considered further until it has been revised and clarified.
Under notification settings, you can disable the email notification for assets creation. This could ignore the assets uloading email. Have you tried this?
