Recurrence Pattern, Description, Scheduled/Unscheduled and Calendar View for Maintenance Blackouts

This idea is to introduce a Recurrence Pattern, Reminders, Description, Scheduled/Unscheduled and a Calendar View for Maintenance Blackouts.

  • Recurrence Pattern: When you click 'Create Maintenance Blackout' it allows you to schedule the date & time, however there is no option for a reoccurrence. This would be useful for Admin teams where they have regular weekly or monthly maintenance blackouts. The recurrence pattern can be similar to what you already have configured for deployments: Never, Monthly, Weekly, Daily.

  • Description: We would like a textbox to be able to add a description of what work we're doing during the Maintenance Blackout and include an Incident or Change reference number. It would be good if this textbox was editable post event of the blackout - so that any status within the description can be updated.

  • Scheduled/Unscheduled: We would like a dropdown option for a 'Scheduled' or 'Unscheduled' Maintenance Blackout. If it's 'Scheduled' we would add a description with our planned Change reference number. If it was 'Unscheduled' we would add a description with our Incident reference number.

  • Calendar View: It would be nice if a calendar view could be created, where alongside an Application Team's current calendar, they had the option to view a 'Maintenance Blackout Calendar'. Here, as read-only, they would be able to view our upcoming blackouts, see descriptions of the maintenance work and whether or not it is a 'Scheduled' or 'Unscheduled' blackout.

This is planned for the 8.1.1 release (March 2025). Thank you very much.

For this Idea, we removed the Reminder feature from the title and in the description of the Idea. We have created a new Idea for the "Reminder" feature on your behalf. It is URBANCODE-I-700. We will assess this priority and review a plan for implementation.

    Hi Randy,

We are happy for you to proceed without the "Reminder" feature for now.

Please can you raise another RFE on our behalf to include the "Reminder" feature at a later date?

    Thanks,
    Amy

Our development team would like to proceed with implementation of this Idea without the "Reminder" feature. They would like to move forward with the recurrence pattern. They would suggest that we file another Idea/RFE if you need the "Reminder" feature. We can submit this other RFE on your behalf if you like. Please let us know. Doing this reduces the complexity for our development team and allows us to implement this quickly.

Could you please respond and let us know if you would agree to this implementation plan?

Thank you for submitting these ideas. They are very good. We have created a discussion topic with a development team to review this and we will be in touch with the results soon.
