Recurrence Pattern, Reminders, Description, Scheduled/Unscheduled and Calendar View for Maintenance Blackouts

This idea is to introduce a Recurrence Pattern, Reminders, Description, Scheduled/Unscheduled and a Calendar View for Maintenance Blackouts.

  • Recurrence Pattern: When you click 'Create Maintenance Blackout' it allows you to schedule the date & time, however there is no option for a reoccurrence. This would be useful for Admin teams where they have regular weekly or monthly maintenance blackouts. The recurrence pattern can be similar to what you already have configured for deployments: Never, Monthly, Weekly, Daily.

  • Reminders: Sometimes the recurring Maintenance Blackout may not be needed because no maintenance work will be carried out for whatever reason. To help manage this, it would be good if when creating a Maintenance Blackout there was an option to send a notification reminder to X team/user. Then if they decide that the reoccurring Maintenance Blackout is no longer required for the coming occurrence, they can cancel and re-schedule for later.

  • Description: We would like a textbox to be able to add a description of what work we're doing during the Maintenance Blackout and include an Incident or Change reference number. It would be good if this textbox was editable post event of the blackout - so that any status within the description can be updated.

  • Scheduled/Unscheduled: We would like a dropdown option for a 'Scheduled' or 'Unscheduled' Maintenance Blackout. If it's 'Scheduled' we would add a description with our planned Change reference number. If it was 'Unscheduled' we would add a description with our Incident reference number.

  • Calendar View: It would be nice if a calendar view could be created, where alongside an Application Team's current calendar, they had the option to view a 'Maintenance Blackout Calendar'. Here, as read-only, they would be able to view our upcoming blackouts, see descriptions of the maintenance work and whether or not it is a 'Scheduled' or 'Unscheduled' blackout.
