Complete OSGI modularization of all Liberty Profile Implementation(s)

The complete functionality of the Liberty Profile implementation should be modularized by means of OSGI. Thus, it should be possible that any custom extension to the Liberty Profile server can be implemented and provided as OSGI feature.
In particular this is required for the implementation of a Custom User Registry (already possible in Liberty 8.5-next Beta-1), a custom Trust Association Interceptor (might be in Beta-2, to be verified), and custom JAAS login modules (not yet available in Liberty 8.5-next Beta-1 and Beta-2).
The requirement addresses the current implementation / edition of the Liberty Profile focusing on JEE6 Web Profile, as well as any future edition of the Liberty Profile addressing the full set of functionality currently provided by the WAS standard or ND editions.

The modularization should consider the additional feature requested in RFE 32810:
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=32810

The context and more details are available in the presentation of InnerCircle Session 1438 at IMPACT 2013.

The content of this RFE has already been discussed with the following IBM experts:
- Bill O'Donnell (WebSphere Foundation Security Architect)
- Jens Engelke (WebSphere BPM Development)
- Stefan Schmitt / Daniel Blum (WebSphere Portal Development)

Daimler needs an implementation of this feature by latest
- November 2013 (Alpha / Beta program)
- Q2/2014 (GA)

Thank you for the suggestion. The requirement does have merit, but looking at it with respect to our total backlog of requests we do not see sufficient interest in this enhancement to merit delivery any time in the foreseeable future. Given the unlikelihood that we would deliver this, we are declining the request rather than leaving it in an uncommitted state for an extended period of time. If you would like to discuss this decision further, please contact Graham Charters <charters@uk.ibm.com>.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Application Platform
    Product - WebSphere Application Server

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Application Servers
    Product - WebSphere Application Server

Custom User Registries and Trust Association Interceptors can now be added to Liberty as user features. We will accept this RFE for adding similar support to JAAS login modules.
