Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

RSA 7.0.x loads all at startup, definitely a memory hogger

RSA 7.0.x loads everything at startup, instead components should have been loaded on demand. It is extremely slow, takes ample time even for a minor change. Moreover, it prohibits user operations to take place while RSA is trying to synchronize components.

As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The offering team has carefully reviewed this idea and has decided that it has either been delivered with later version or does not fit into our current plans, so the idea will be closed. The idea will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may still be voted on. It might be reassessed or reopened for additional feedback in the future. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you in developing our products.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - WebSphere

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:

In my previous post the "posting tool" inserted some blanks into the URLs that I posted. There should be no embedded blanks in either of the URLs.

In order to see exactly which plug-ins were activated I added the Runtime Spy to my RAD driver. There is a writeup on this tool here:

    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource/lib rary/os-ecspy1/

In particular I added the Runtime Spy to my driver by using this update link:

    http://dev.eclipse.org/viewcvs/index.cgi/%7Echec kout%7E/platform-core-home/updates

For my workspace the spy showed that 149 plug-ins were activated. If you could do the same for your environment, and let us know which plug-ins should not be activated we can take a look.

Most of us have RSA V7.0.0.5
Plugins for all perspectives are loaded at startup.
We have regular J2EE projects with EJB, Web and/or WebServices.

What specific version of RSA 7.0.x are you using? What plugins are loading unnecessarily? What kind of projects are loaded in the workspace?
