Specify JRE when use External Java Application" option from RAD for TPTP/profiling tools

For the "External Java Application" option, requesting
it would be useful to have a tab to specify the path of the JRE on the remote machine used to launch the agent.
Indicating, this is needed to accurately reflect performance profiling by using
the same JDK that the standalone java application was developed with and will be used in production.

Due to processing by IBM, this request was reassigned to have the following updated attributes:
    Brand - WebSphere
    Product family - Application Platform
Product - Software Architect for WebSphere

For recording keeping, the previous attributes were:
    Brand - Rational
Product family - Design & development
Product - Software Architect for WebSphere

There is already a mechanism currently to set the JRE used on the remote machine. We had asked the customer to clarify if that's not sufficient (and thus this requirement) or they are not aware of this mechanism.

We are resolving this defect as "Waiting infomation from customer" while we wait for customer's clarification. We'll re-evaluate once we receive customer's response.

Please provide clarification on the requirement. Once we receive that, we'll triage this enhancement request to the appropriate release.

I'd like to understand your use case a little more.

During install, the Rational Agent Controller is configured to use the JDK that comes bundled in the installation package. You can however run the "SetConfig.sh" script from the bin/ directory of the RAC install at any time to reconfigure the AC (just make sure you stop it first). This reconfiguration script will allow you to specify the JRE that will be used to start remotely profiled applications.

So this mechanism already allows you to control the JRE that is used to profile a remote Java application.

Does this fit your scenario? If not, can you elaborate further on the specific requirements to your scenario?
