Mechanism to share values between deployment steps at component level

We have a deployment process that shares information between steps. To share the information between steps we are using application variables and that way of working brokes when multiple component versiones are selected in a deployment execution. If any user selects multiple versions that will cause several issues in the productive infrastructure, such as Load Modules deployed to wrong PDSs, with unexpected results.

It would be useful for us to enable de parallel deployment of multiple component versions at once.

In order to enable that, it would be great if valyues can be shared between steps at component level. In that scenario each deployment would work independently and with the right outcome.
