Automated deploy with snap integration and rollback feature.

We want to offer our customers to deploy to production environments in a scheduled way, with access control and automatic change management.

As it is going through change management approval in snap/service now in our case it is allowed for developers to order the deploy even though they are developers (segregation of duties).

The flow we want and has created is a process they initiate in DevOps Deploy where they input all data for the deploy.

The flow then creates changes necessary and approvals, before the deploy of components we want to be able to do a rollback in case of issues.

The only way seems to be to take a snapshot, and here comes the issue

When snapshot is created it creates a snapshot of what will be installed!? Not what is currently installed in the system.

This means that a rollback will not be done to the correct versions.

So for now we have fallen back to "hoping" that there is a snapshot that is valid and use that one to rollback to in case of any issue.

It would be beneficial if there was a way to get the versions of components currently deployed or that snapshot actually makes a snapshot that is not from the future.

Thank you again for submitting this idea. It appears to be a duplicate of DVOPS-I-876 which has a little more detail in it. As a result, we are going to close this IDEA and focus on DVOPS-I-876 which was also opened by the same company with a reference to the same support case ticket. Please refer to DVOPS-I-876 for updates.
