Implement ClearQuest user account password management including: user must change password on next login, password expiration, account lockout from failed login attempts, user self-request for a password reset and tool provides reset link/method.
These are standard user account and password features that most software vendors have been proving in their products for years. ClearQuest does not support most of these.
Over the last several years company security policies are increasing and as ClearQuest admins we must comply to the new policies. If we cannot, then we may lose the ability to offer ClearQuest to our programs and users.
ClearQuest offers LDAP support and password attack protection. Not all sites are able to implement LDAP and CQ web. Password attack protection is available at an add-on command line level. CQ 10.0.3: Protecting from password attacks: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/rational-clearquest/10.0.3?topic=model-protecting-from-password-attacks
Adding the request CQ account password management features to the CQ User Admin Tool, or equivalent, would modernize the CQ product and make it sustainable to meet our future security requirements.
