Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Built-in data integrity checks for ClearCase data

Dear IBM/Rational support,

We need a new feature to ensure the integrity of ClearCase data,
especially for source containers. We have found out that even
very simple manipulations of source containers are NOT detected
by the available checks (dbcheck and checkvob). For details
please see the log file attached to PMR 33389,SGC,724.

Within "git" for example all objects are accessed using a SHA-1
checksum and therefore any modifcation is detected.

One possible solution for this problem is described in a
developerworks post from May 2012 (see URL below for details):
