UrbanCode Deploy - Remedy plugin and date compare

Currently the Remedy plugin has the ability to check a named field against a specific value and either report success or failure depending on whether there is a match or not. A UK customer needs the ability to check a date and time field value within remedy and be able to check if the current date and time is before or after the specified date. Also the customer wants to be able to check a date window to see that the current date is after the start window date field and before the end date field held in Remedy. So in summary we need to be able to check that the current date and time is before and field AND that the current date and time is after a different field.

Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.

I agree that we need to ensure that plugins are generic and usable b a wide community. I think returning the date fields and allowing the logic to take place in a subsequent step will be a good compromise in keeping this generic and providing what they customer needs.

This request lacks sufficient information for us to evaluate it. It might not be considered further until it has been revised and clarified. Adding additional fields to a plugin for specific purposes can sometimes make the plugin clunky and harder to understand. As an alternative, could we return the date as an output property and then you can provide your own date range logic using a Groovy or Shell step?
