Version statuses update restriction

Our process make use of setting version statuses which later are used in the Environmental Gates to protect environments. 

In order for users to run processes that sets these version statuses the user needs a role with permissions that allows them full access to setting and removing these statuses. 

This is a security issue since it makes it possible for a developer to set statuses outside of the processes. A version meant for test could be modified to be eligable for production for example. 

I think there should be a way for developers to run processes that sets these statuses without giving them the permissions to change them in the UI.
