New UCD Plugin for using XMLs for executing Test Cases
Currently, we became Agile and in order to follow all the DevOps practices, we have successfully implemented UCD for Deployments. We are planning to automate our test cases using Selenium and TestNG for testing automation,
However, in testing automation also, we have almost completed developing and testing of various test cases. Now, we are stuck in implementing same via UCD Selenium plugin as current selenium plugin requires only HTML as test suites, and we have developed our test suites in XML.
There is no any easier way to convert XML into HTML to make it compatible with current Selenium plugin available on UCD. This requires redesigning and developing the test suites again which can impact our overall progress as far as testing automation is concern. Also, Team might look for other alternatives ( available on Jenkins and BlueMix) for same .
In my opinion. there should be separate plugin available on UCD itself which should allow XML also to run test suites, This approach will help IBMers as well as UCD will remain the utmost choice for customers as far as Testing and Deployment Automation is concern.
