Disallow Token Restriction None

This idea is to allow us to prevent Tokens being created with "Token Restrictions" set to none. We would like to be able to enforce restrictions. There is also a potential use case where we maby want to enforce different restrictions for different account types .

    This idea is now delivered in the 8.0.0.1 fixpack release. This fixpack is just released.

    After getting confirmation from the team in our meeting on Nov 8, 2023 that our implementation plan is solid, we will come up with the implementation and release plan and update you with that information. Thank you for submitting this idea. We will change status to "In Development" once we have our plans in place.

    Our engineering team has proposed the following solution. Could you please confirm that this meets your requirements?

    • system setting to remove none option?

    • api should throw some exception if you try to create an auth token without restrictions.

    Our development team would like more information around the use case for this Idea request. For example, I.e. is this being driven by some business rule?

    There are some concerns around implementing this, in particular: users of the CLI would have to add every cli endpoint that they're going to interact with in the token restriction.
