Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Reference UCD properties in application process properties for consumption

During the application process wizard, you often need to choose certain options. An example is the environment in which you want to deploy to (out-of-the-box field). It would be useful to be able to reference these ucd properties inside other application process properties that would be resolved during the wizard: ${p:environment.name}.

Due to this limitation, we've had to move this type of logic outside of UCD as we require more flexibility in the resolution of the application process properties. This means we need a second tool to trigger deployments, even though we would like to have this in UCD itself, so that the processes could be triggered in UCD directly.

Reference RFE that got closed in the past: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=77096.

We acknowledge that it currently might not be that easy to implement, but we feel that the RFE has a lot of value to us & potential other clients. We hope that this RFE would be reconsidered.

As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The offering team has carefully reviewed this idea and has decided that it does not fit into our current plans, or the idea has aged or has been implemented, so the idea will be closed. The idea will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may still be voted on. It might be reassessed or reopened for additional feedback in the future. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you in developing our products.

    Hello Peter,

Engineering is asking for more details about what you are trying to achieve. Could you also please provide some screenshots how you are trying to configure this?

Could you please also give me some more details, why you need to do this.

Why is it necessary to select specific targets (agents) in the resource tree of the given environment?

What type of change (from one component? from different components? something else) you need to apply but selectively?

Why does this change with every deployment you start?

Thank You in advance for your details!
