Starting a transaction should not close an open rowset.

the activity session level, all statements and result sets for shareable
connections are closed.

- Is too restrictive. The current behavior is not desired, because the transaction should not side-effect activities taking place outside its temporal scope on connections which play no part in the transaction.

JBoss and WebLogic do not have the issue (a failure as in the PMR), using the same code.

The workaround of using unshared connections is not acceptable because our product supports very high concurrency and reducing connection usage is very important to our customers. Recent large changes to our product (our data source sharing feature) were recently implemented to help reduce connection usage.

    Thank you for the suggestion. The requirement does have merit, but looking at it with respect to our total backlog of requests we do not see sufficient interest in this enhancement to merit delivery any time in the foreseeable future. Given the unlikelihood that we would deliver this, we are declining the request rather than leaving it in an uncommitted state for an extended period of time.
