The stopServer and startServer script and the wsadmin tool cannot handle passwords containing special charachters

When stopping and starting the WebSphere server, or when using the wsadmin tool the user would like to copy paste the password from their password store (for example Keepass). This is not working when the string contains special characters. To be able to the login special charachters must be escaped.

Thanks for submitting your idea. We are not going to add this Idea to our roadmap right now, however we’ll keep it on record and revisit it if things change in the future.
If you want to discuss this decision further, please contact Jahnvi Bedia at <jahnvibedia.28@ibm.com>.

Looking forward to receiving more ideas from you on the IBM Ideas Portal.

The conclusion from the case seems to be that anything that isn't transformed by the shell is handled by stopServer..sh

Do you have a counter-example that survives the interactive shell, but then does not work, that could be improved under this idea? The interactive shell that you paste into that calls stopServer.sh is not under the control of IBM / WebSphere.
