IBM Cloud - manual VPC selection when creating new WAS environment

We're currently using/evaluating the WAS traditional build template on VSI v2.1.0 and have noticed you have to use a unique vpc_name in its build configuration. In an IBM multi cloud heterogeneous environment, it would great if you had the option to 'grow' in to an existing VPC i.e. when an existing IBM cloud customer wants to migrate from on-prem/hybrid WAS to IBM cloud provisioned WAS and therefore use an existing VPC rather than create a new one

    Hi,

    Thanks for submitting the idea.

    There are two possibilities. Can you please clarify which option you are interested in:

    • Option 1: Customer creates and sets up VSIs in their existing VPC (like v1.0).

    • Option 2: The solution creates new VSIs in customer's existing VPC.
