NGINX Ingress Controller Support for RTAS in AKS

RTAS support for AKS is currently provided with Emissary Ingress which required additional CRDs to be installed at the cluster level.

Security team advising to use NGINX Ingress controller as a standard since the hardening for AKS can be done as well which is not the case with Emissary Ingress.

    As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The offering team has carefully reviewed this idea and we currently have no plans to return to NGINX (to allow use of Ingress resources without CRDs). Also, Kubernetes with their Gateway API is also evolving to use CRDs by default, per https://kubernetes.io/blog/2022/07/13/gateway-api-graduates-to-beta/has decided that it does not fit into our current plans, so the idea will be closed. Please note: RTAS has not been tested on a hardened AKS cluster – we would advise using the implementation doc found in the chart.

    The idea will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may still be voted on. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you in developing our products.
