Renaming a test in a suite is not reflected in Results Gallery results

We are noticing that Renaming a test in a RIT Project which is added to a test suite is not reflected in Results Gallery results for new runs. Even if you re-save the Test Suite. Also removing and re-add the specific renamed tests does is not reflected in the results gallery test overview.


IBM confirmed that currently the decision has made to only show the original testcase name in results to not cause the historic record to change.


This behaviour causes issues for us. . For our testers it more useful to easily find the testcase to be verified and to be edited in the RIT Client in the current RIT Project if the report shows the latest name. There is no history of testcase names which you could verify and see what the old names where so showing the latest name would be preferred.

Please consider changing this behaviour to always update the test names with the current name in the RIT project instead of keeping the original names.


(note this has been implemented since 10.2.x?)

    This request has been implemented in 10.2.x somewhere by adding a checkbox 'Update databse when project artificats are moved or renamed' in the Project Settings, server settings tab.

    As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion.
