IBM Synergy and Rationale Change – automatic install of SSL client certificate

Background:
While Synergy supports SSL; there is no facility to seamlessly download and install the client certificate automatically.

Siemens have many teams, throughout the globe using Synergy: the administration involved in users having to manually install the certificate is not efficient and does not comply with our IT Security needs.

For security reasons. the work around suggested by support, ref: 02787 077 724, 02782 077 724 and 02786 077 724, below is not acceptable:-

1) Use a file share, accessible to all Synergy users, to host a copy of the client certificate for them to download.
2) Run a script to install 1) in the applicable certificate store.

Enhancement required:

Siemens require:-

a) IBM Synergy to automatically install and configure Synergy Clients with the SSSL client certificate.
b) Rational Change to automatically install and configure Rational Change as above.
