Shape the future of IBM!

We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:

Search existing ideas

Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,

Post your ideas
  1. Post an idea.

  2. Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.

  3. Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

EJB Client jar location

When creating EJB client JAR file in RAD 8.5, depending on the steps taken, the location of the jar is either root of the EAR or the EAR lib directory.

This becomes confudsing to the developers.

This is also affecting our common build script we are working on for deciding the location of the jar in the generated EAR.

I am working with Brian Young from IBM on the PMR listed above.

I saw a similar request related to RAD 8 from about a year ago, but did not see any comments from Rational Team on it.

Although the theme of this request is consistent with our business strategy, it is not committed to the release that is currently under development.
