This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Platform products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

Any enterprise deployment of a solution that includes RAM will require high availabity . There is no installation instructions nor documented way to set up RAM in an HA configuration. There is a tech note (https://www-304.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21445763 ) that describes a partial solution. The technote does not mention how to have the shared directory, mentioned in the RAM clustering recommendation, be highly available.
RAM needs to supply a RECOMMENDED AND TESTED HA configuration. Ideally in a Windows environment or a WIndows + Linux (for RTC database) environment. Nice to have would be an option on the installation program to install in a HA configuration instead of the regular one.
An active/active configuration would be preferred but an active/passive configuration would be OK. With the recommendation should be enviroinmental pre-requesites such as
1) an IP sprayer
2) OS clustering (Microsoft clusters or VMware HA for instance)
3) File system requirements for the shared directory (NFSv4 or CIFS or GVFS (like MQ). Ideally, a program to test the file system for compatability would be available (MQ does this as well)
4) any monitoring software needed (like TSA is used for doing fail over of DB2)
RAM API should automatically retry / reconnect if there is a failure (assuming an active/passive configuration where there is a brief service interruption as the passive takes over). The application code that calls the RAM API should not need to handle the failover - it should be invisible to the caller.
If RAM is installed in this recommended HA configuration, it should be fully supported.
