Limit the number and type of database objects in a DB synchronization

We need a way to limit the objects that are synchronized (other than by specifying 'Owner' or the table name (when the results are returned). We'd like to limit the number of table objects that are selected for synchronization prior to the comparision with the physical model as well as the number of table object types (i.e., synonyms, indexes, table space, etc.) that are compared. We believe this approach would lessen processing time, and improve the synchronization process overall.
