This is an IBM Automation portal for Cloud Platform products. To view all of your ideas submitted to IBM, create and manage groups of Ideas, or create an idea explicitly set to be either visible by all (public) or visible only to you and IBM (private), use the IBM Unified Ideas Portal (https://ideas.ibm.com).
We invite you to shape the future of IBM, including product roadmaps, by submitting ideas that matter to you the most. Here's how it works:
Start by searching and reviewing ideas and requests to enhance a product or service. Take a look at ideas others have posted, and add a comment, vote, or subscribe to updates on them if they matter to you. If you can't find what you are looking for,
Post an idea.
Get feedback from the IBM team and other customers to refine your idea.
Follow the idea through the IBM Ideas process.

This would provide value for many products besides CP4BA. MCP has quickly become the de facto standard to add capabilities to AI agents. Providing OAuth 2.1 support for MCP will be key for products using Liberty.
Strengthens CP4BA’s position as a modern, pluggable automation platform ready for Agent AI-first use cases.
Unlocks cross-sell opportunities between CP4BA and Watsonx Orchestrate
Strong alignment with IBM’s broader Watsonx + Business Automation go-to-market narrative (Watsonx Orchestrate also announced MCP support at Think 2025 so this would be a good collaboration to bring wxO and CP4BA together. )
Enables Agent AI enterprise grade ready architecture for next-generation, agent-centric automation ecosystems

Business Case : The automation landscape is rapidly evolving toward AI-driven agent-based automations, where Agents perform tasks by dynamically invoking tools and services. Industry standards like Model Context Protocol (MCP) are becoming foundational to enable this interoperability. Competitors and adjacent IBM solutions such as watsonx Orchestrate are adopting MCP as a default mechanism to integrate with automation platforms. Without MCP support, CP4BA risks falling behind market expectations and limiting its participation in next-generation, agent-centric automation ecosystems
