UrbanCode Deploy – Support for JIT Provisioning and User Sync with OIDC/SAML

Customer SMBC has implemented UrbanCode Deploy 7.2.3 with OIDC authentication via Microsoft Entra ID.
While OIDC authentication works, the current product lacks:
 

  • Just-In-Time (JIT) user provisioning – automatic creation of user accounts at first login.
  • User Sync capability – scheduled or on-demand synchronization of user accounts and attributes from the IdP.
  • SAML SSO support (requested in the same context).

This gap creates significant administrative overhead and prevents alignment with enterprise IAM standards.

Proposed Enhancement:

  1. Add JIT provisioning for OIDC/SAML login flows.
  2. Provide User Sync capability to update users and roles from IdPs (Entra ID, Okta, etc.).
  3. Optional: Enable role/group mapping at login based on IdP attributes.

    Please let us know when we get the meeting scheduled to discuss RFE DVOPS-I-804 “Support for JIT Provisioning and User Sync with OIDC/SAML’ with the client. We will make sure we have our development resources available for the call with the customer. This will help us to make progress on this new Idea submitted by the SMBC team.

    It would help our development team to better understand the requirements for this Idea if we could setup a call with the customer so we can have an open discussion.
