Create default ClearCase scheduled to run clmutil cmirepair.

The CC CMI integration is best described as a "loose" integration where the links in the CMI provider may become "queued" instead of being immediately applied. The "queuing" can be done by placing information in the cmi_repair_log file. This file is:

  • Local to each host, and
  • NOT regularly processed.

Additionally, the repair operation requires ClearCase administrative access.

This means that any "queued" task associations will not actually occur until a ClearCase administrator access the user's host and runs clmutil cmirepair. Thus, the "ClearCase" and "CMI Provider" perspectives on task association can drift further and further out of sync.

Creating a scheduled job to regularly run the tool on each client host will help limit the "drift."
