Progress indicator for export activities in ClearQuest Web client

We are currently using ClearQuest Web version 10.0.6, with the server running on Microsoft Windows Server 2022 and backend databases hosted on SQL Server 2022.

In the deprecated native ClearQuest Windows client, we ran queries and viewed the results on the Result Set page of the Query window. We then used File > Export Grid to export data.

In ClearQuest Web, on the results toolbar in the results pane, we can click the arrow next to the Export icon to select either 'Export to a Text file' or 'Export to an Excel spreadsheet'.

In the Windows client, there was an option to view the progress of data exports via the status bar, allowing users to monitor if a download was in progress or if it had been interrupted. The Export Grid feature provided a status indicator showing export progress as a percentage. Please see the attached illustration in cqwin_export.jpg.

After discussing with IBM Support (case number: TS018063061), we learned that there is there no similar status indicator in the ClearQuest Web client that shows download progress or indicates whether a download is still active or has been interrupted. Also that this not something that can be configured or enabled for ClearQuest Web.

We would like to see this status indicator introduced in a future ClearQuest release.

The absence of a progress indicator for export tasks in the ClearQuest Web client is causing delays and uncertainty for our team when exporting large datasets. Without this feature, users are unsure if their export is still in progress or if it has been interrupted, which can lead to multiple attempts and wasted time. This impacts productivity, especially when handling critical data exports during tight timelines. A clear progress indicator would help streamline our workflow and improve overall efficiency.

Thank you.
