Support for Oracle Enterprise Linux

Due to Red Hat's shutting down public access to their distribution source packages, Oracle and other "compatible" linux distributions can no longer state that their kernel or userspace packages are 100% compatible with the matching Red Hat Enterprise Linux version. direct support for OEL is needed.

    As part of the review process, we strive to be transparent about our intentions with each enhancement suggestion. The offering team has carefully reviewed this idea and has decided that it does not fit into our current plans, so the idea will be closed.

    Adding another Linux operating system into full support requires major testing (and later support) activities as kernel compatibility is not quaranteed anymore for RHEL clones.

    The idea will be kept in IBM's ideas repository and may still be voted on. It might be reassessed or reopened for additional feedback in the future. We value your feedback and thank you for allowing us the privilege of partnering with you in developing our products.

    Is it related to the unbreakable kernel or the red hat kernel provided with OEL?
